Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Pepper Fest! Our volunteer opportunities are broken down by pre/post festival and during the festival. Click each opportunity to see more details, requirements and the dates and times. Click and complete one of the signup forms so we may contact you and get you into a volunteer slot.

Pre & Post-Festival Opportunities:

  • Help prepare the Homemade Italian Food for Pepper Fest weekend. It takes many hands to get all the peppers cut, meatballs rolled, and peppers stuffed.

    Dates: Friday & Saturday, August 11 & 12

    Time: beginning at 9:00am each day and ending when all food is prepped

    Location: Hudson High School, enter in the back, Door 12

  • Assist in setting up tents, the stage, gates, the beer garden, tables, chairs, lights, signage, etc.

    Dates: set up begins Saturday, August 12th through the festival opening on Friday, August 18th.

    Time: timing is flexible

    Requirements: Must be at least 14 years old and able to do physical labor.

  • Staple and stake No Parking Signs on the parade detour route and lineup streets.

    Requirements: At least one adult is needed to supervise. A vehicle (like a pickup truck) and licensed driver that can haul stakes from the North Hudson water tower to the designated streets. Gloves, staples and staple guns.

    Date & Time:

    Thursday, August 17: 6:00pm

  • Assist in tearing down and cleaning up the festival grounds and transporting items to storage. Teardown begins Sunday night.

    Dates: Sunday, August 20th & Monday, August 21st

    Time: Sunday begins at 9:00pm. Monday's timing is flexible.

    Requirements: Must be at least 14 years old and able to do physical labor.

  • Empty the festival trash bins and insert a new bag. Haul and throw trash bags in the dumpsters behind the Main Stage. Pick up trash on the ground and tables and wipe down tables as needed.

    Requirements: At least one volunteer must be able to pull the full trash bags out of the trash bins and throw them into the dumpster.

    Date & Time:

    Monday, August 21: 7:00am - 9:00am


Festival Opportunities

  • Run and manage the Bean Bag Tournament.

    Date & Time: Saturday, August 19th: 12:45pm - 4:15pm

  • Verify purchaser has a wristband. Collect an appropriate number of tickets for beverage(s), pour, and serve.

    Requirements: Must be 21+

    Friday, August 18: 4:30pm - 11:45pm

    Saturday, August 19: 11:15am - 11:45pm

    Sunday, August 20: 10:45am - 9:15pm

  • Run and mange the Bingo Tent - collect cash payment for cards from players, call the Bingo numbers, record Bingo games, award winners.

    Dates & Times:

    Friday, August 18: 5:45pm - 11:15pm

    Saturday, August 19: 12:45pm - 10:45pm

    Sunday, August 20: 10:45am - 2:15pm & 4:45pm - 8:45pm

  • Ensure those entering the festival have a current Pepper Fest button. A button is required for entry (12 and under are free). Sell buttons and collect cash from those who need to purchase.

    Requirements: Friendly with good communication skills. Must be able to take cash and provide the correct change.

  • Run and mange the Dunk Tank - ensure we have a person to be in the Dunk Tank and collect tickets from those playing.

    Dates & Times:

    Saturday, August 19: 1:45pm - 6:15pm

    Sunday, August 20: 10:45am - 2:45pm

  • Heat and fry carnival type foods (hot dogs, sausage, mini corn dogs, french fries, cheese curds), collect an appropriate number of tickets for food and beverages, and serve.

    Friday, August 18: 4:30pm - 11:45pm

    Saturday, August 19: 11:00am - 11:15pm

    Sunday, August 20: 10:30am - 9:15pm

  • Cook, heat, plate and serve the homemade Italian Food (spaghetti, ravioli, stuffed peppers, dagos). Collect the appropriate number of tickets or run a credit card and track orders.

    Requirements: some volunteers are needed to train on the credit card / inventory system.

  • Prepare the Main Food Booth each day by cleaning, setting up tables, wrapping tables, and prepping workstations.

    Dates & Times:

    Friday, August 18: 1:30pm - 4:30pm

    Saturday, August 19: 8:00am - 11:00am

    Sunday, August 20: 7:30am - 10:30am

  • Mark the race routes (1 Mile, 5K, & 10K) using the predetermined race maps, set up water stations, start each race and guide and cheer on the racers.

    Requirements: Must be familiar with Foot Race Events.

    Sunday, August 20: 7:00am - 11:00am

  • Check attendees’ photo IDs and put on wristbands that must be worn to purchase alcohol. Keep out prohibited items (guns, carryons, outside beverages, pets, and bikes) and enforce rules (ID Check, no alcoholic beverages leaving the festival grounds and bags subject to search).

    Requirements: Must be assertive and at least 18 years old.

  • Sell Pepper Fest merchandise, collect the appropriate number of tickets or run a credit card, prevent theft, and track orders.

    Requirements: Must train on the credit card / inventory system.

    Friday, August 18: 4:30pm - 8:30pm

    Saturday, August 19: 11:15am - 8:30pm

    Sunday, August 20: 10:45am - 7:00pm

  • Begin by stapling and staking the parade lineup numbers. Then, help Marshal the parade units to their lineup street and number. After the parade begins, lineup numbers and stakes can be removed and stored back at the North Hudson water tower. Some volunteers will also direct units to the tear down area.

    Requirements: At least one adult is needed to supervise. A vehicle (like a pickup truck) and licensed driver that can haul stakes from the North Hudson water tower to the lineup streets. Gloves, staple, and staple guns. High visibility vests will be provided along with lineup materials and information.

    Saturday, August 19th starting at 7:30am

  • Sell Pepper Fest tickets by collecting cash or credit card payment.

    Requirements: Must train on the credit card system. Must be 18+
